Delta Petrol d.o.o. Kakanj and Exigo engineering & automation d.o.o. Zenica joint forces fully designed, installed and put into operation the automated stable fire protection system in the INA Oil Terminal in Podlugovi, Bosnia and Hercegovina. We proudly named it as Automated Fire Guard or AFG.
The automation of the stable fire protection system means the provision of foam and/or water flow to specific Zones at the Oil Terminal. This implied the realization of the group management of electric valves and pumps in automatic and manual mode of operation. Operators have the option of control from the HMI panel, and manually (backup) via buttons. Visualization is intuitive, the entire system is displayed on the Panel, so usage is very simple. Operators can choose the automatic mode of operation in which it is only necessary to activate the Critical Zone on the Panel, and groups of valves and pumps are automatically activated and start the process of extinguishing or cooling the selected Zone. Also, in addition to the automatic mode of operation, operators can also open individual valves and thus deliver water or foam to all specific points on the Terminal. On the HMI Panel is possible to monitor foam or water flows, the opening of each valve, the status of valves and electric motor drives of pumps, etc. The smooth & fast fire protection system, that's what we aimed to, it definately lifts the Oil Terminal safety to the higher level.
